    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Los Blancos are believed to be huge fans of Saliba, with reports suggesting the club have tracked the 24-year-old since his days at Saint-Etienne. The player joined Arsenal in 2019, but Madrid have cultivated an ongoing relationship with Saliba's inner circle.

    A summer move is highly unlikely. Saliba is under contract until 2027, and Arsenal will probably pursue a renewal before the 25/26 season. It is believed Madrid will make a bid in 2026, or will pursue a free transfer if the centre back doesn't put pen to paper in North London.
